Hall’s rare early poetic work (written when he was only 21), featuring a frontispiece by photographer William Mortensen titled “Not Being Is My Name.” The poems explore cosmic consciousness, reincarnation, and the metaphysical relationship between matter and spirit, recurring themes that would later define his career as a leading twentieth-century mystic and philosopher.
