Printed by John Henry Nash for the Book Club of California, this edition presents George Sterling’s ambitious cosmic poem, reflecting early twentieth-century fascination with astronomy, philosophical speculation, and the scale of the universe. The volume also preserves material relating to Ambrose Bierce’s early involvement with the poem, along with an introduction by Oscar Lewis and a memoir of Bierce by Albert.
Bound in marbled paper boards. All pages retain the red ruled borders, and the mounted facsimile leaves are present.
It is in Very Good condition. Noticeable crackling and loss along the front hinge, with heavier chipping and a larger area of loss along the rear hinge. Corners bumped. Internally the pages remain clean. Very Good. Item #111
