Cold War Artillery & Missile Service Archive of Sergeant Major Kenneth W. Klinger

1963. Cold War Artillery & Missile Service Archive of Sergeant Major Kenneth W. Klinger

A small but compelling archive documenting the military career of Sergeant Major Kenneth W. Klinger, a senior U.S. Army non-commissioned officer whose service in Europe spanned the Cold War era.

Included are an original Honorable Discharge Certificate dated November 3, 1963, a 1970 U.S. Army Europe pamphlet titled Welfare, Recreation, and Morale: Guide to Hunting in Germany, a framed Field Artillery Missile Systems Evaluation Group (FAMSEG) appreciation certificate recognizing Klinger's service between 1964 and 1966, and a framed 999th Armored Field Artillery Battalion "Neverdie Order of the Triangle" certificate awarded for meritorious service in Germany between 1954 and 1955.

Together, the documents trace Klinger's progression from armored field artillery service in postwar Germany to later involvement with a specialized Army missile evaluation unit during the height of the Cold War. The two framed presentation certificates, both bearing his name and service number, form the centerpiece of the collection and provide a tangible record of a long military career spent with U.S. Army forces in Europe.

The framed FAMSEG certificate measures 14.25 x 11 inches, the framed Order of the Triangle certificate measures 12 x 8.75 inches, the Honorable Discharge Certificate measures 10.5 x 9 inches, and the hunting pamphlet measures 10.25 x 7.75 inches.

Condition is generally very good with expected age toning, handling wear, and light creasing to the paper documents. Both framed presentation certificates display well.
