14 volumes. Limited Edition, copy number 170 of 350 printed on Japan vellum. Bound in 3/4 red morocco over marbled paper-covered boards with gilt borders, five raised bands to the spines, gilt florons and titles, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers, and hand-colored frontispieces.

A beautifully produced limited edition set of Charles Kingsley's collected novels and poems, issued in just 350 numbered copies. Printed on Japan vellum and finished in an attractive 3/4 morocco binding, this deluxe edition includes hand-colored frontispieces and remains one of the nicest collected editions of Kingsley's works.

In Good condition, with heavy shelf wear throughout with chipping and fading to the spines, likely from years of sun exposure. Corners are rubbed, with some volumes showing the leather completely worn through at the tips. The volume titled Yeast has a break to the upper corner of the front board that runs about halfway across the board. It remains attached but bends at the break. The set haso separated boards, and in good working condition. Good. Item #177
