Published in English in 1947, A Prisoner—and Yet! is Corrie ten Boom’s early account of her experiences during the Nazi occupation, written decades before The Hiding Place made her story internationally famous. Ten Boom and her family were part of the Dutch resistance, hiding Jews and other fugitives in their Haarlem home until they were betrayed and arrested in 1944. The book follows her imprisonment at Scheveningen and Vught, and eventually Ravensbrück concentration camp, where her sister Betsie died. Throughout the book, Ten Boom recounts the sisters’ experiences inside the camps and the important role their Christian faith played in surviving and helping their fellow prisoners.

There is also an early ownership inscription from Gloria Nelson, dated July 1948, while attending CAMP-of-the-WOODS in Speculator, New York, a long-running evangelical Christian camp in the Adirondacks.

Bound in the original green cloth with black titles to the front board and spine. Lacking the dust jacket.

In Very Good condition, with bumped corners, slight rubbing to the head and foot of the spine, and a slight cock to the binding. There is some toning to the first couple of pages, otherwise internally clean.
