A locally produced historical and antiquarian compilation issued in support of a civic fundraising fair, bringing together essays, historical notes, and illustrations relating to the city of Perth and its surrounding county. The volume reflects the Edwardian interest in local history, genealogy, and regional identity, and was intended both as a commemorative publication and as a means of supporting the City and County Conservative Club.

This copy is accompanied by two contemporary manuscript documents establishing clear and documented provenance to Kinfauns Castle, the seat of the Earls of Moray. Laid into the volume is a formal estate letter on Kinfauns Estates Office stationery dated 25 December 1922, addressed to the Earl of Moray and signed by James G. Wilson, confirming delivery of the book. Also present is a presentation inscription dated Xmas Day 1922 from Peter Baxter, Honorary Secretary, stating that the book was given in appreciation of a paper delivered to the Gaelic Society of Perth on The Family Records of the Earls of Moray. Together, these documents firmly link the volume to the Moray estate and provide an unusually well-documented chain of ownership.

Bound in light blue cloth with gray paper boards.

It is in Good condition. There is heavy staining and wear to the front and back boards, with rubbed and worn corners. Foxing is present internally, heaviest to the first and last pages, with general toning throughout the text block. All plates are present, including the folding map of Perth. Good. Item #26
